I joined a gym hoping I would magically come up with some personal motivation to get fit. I hadn't been happy with the pounds piling on for a while, but I wasn't doing too well on my own. Thankfully at the time Kristy worked at that gym, and I decided to try her out to see if it would make a difference. Over 4 years later and I'm a completely different person! I'm happy and healthy. I'm not tired all the time. My relationship with food has completely changed. And something I didn't think I would ever ever say: I love exercise! I love the how it makes me feel afterwards, I love reaching my goals, and I love being fit. I am focussing heavily on getting stronger these days, rather than focussing mainly on weight loss, and I love it! My muscles have grown so much that I'm almost back up to the same weight I was to start with, but almost 4inches smaller around the belly! None of this would've been possible without Kristy. Her constant advise, guidance and encouragement has been invaluable. I attend three group sessions and a one-to-one session a week and fit in whatever I can around that, with running, yoga, pole dancing and weight training - which is tough considering how hard she works me, and how hard I push myself in our sessions! Kristy has changed my entire outlook on health and fitness, and I can't recommend her enough for that.

Over the past month I have learnt so much: what not to eat, how to exercise effectively and how to take care of my body properly. I used to dread going to the gym sometimes but now I have realised that exercise can be enjoyable. The one on one relationship with my personal trainer really helps motivate me to make sure I eat healthily throughout the week and keep up the exercises. The main goal I had when I started on Kristy's fitness program was to "tone up" and get fitter. Even though I have only been attending sessions for three weeks I already feel healthier and more motivated to work out. Exercises and routines suggested are very achievable and alternative techniques suggested within the classes have allowed me to work at own pace. This in turn has helped me to continue to carry on the routines and exercises I have learnt when I am at home. Additionally, working in smaller groups during the sessions has allowed a more personal approach to working out, for example; I have found it helpful  having the opportunity to set and discuss achievable weekly targets, and this has really helped to encourage me. It has been a great experience so far!

For years I was “too busy” to exercise or go to the gym. My weight crept up and I felt heavy, unfit, and just didn’t like the way I looked. Despite wanting to get fit, I felt too unfit to do anything about it. Money got wasted on gym subscriptions when I didn’t feel comfortable in that environment. The accelerator program has been brilliant. I’ve already seen results in my first month, losing a total of 11.5cm! All of the instructors and really friendly and super encouraging. I got in touch with Kristy as I was really struggling to motivate myself into making changes to my lifestyle. I knew I wanted to get back into regular exercise and make positive changes to my diet and my training sessions with Kristy and Tiff have really helped me do just that. Although the sessions are tough, I really enjoy learning new exercises and working hard and I love the feeling you get once you have completed an hour of intense training. Whilst I still have more to do to achieve my ultimate goals I feel that I have really made progress with Kristy's help and support. The workouts are hard and gruelling (leaving me in not the most attractive of states!) but are so much fun, with varying exercises and circuits. I am so excited to come to each session and to crack on with working on the areas of my body that i would like to tone and shape. Having had injuries with my knee and ankle, I have been out of sport for 18 months and have lost the figure I was confident with. Since working with Natalie and Tiff for only a month i am already beginning to wear short sleeved tops out, which I never would have done before! I am already beginning to feel far more confident with myself and I enjoy working hard towards my aim of feeling more confident - I, of course, wouldn’t be able to do or feel any of this without the help and support of the wonderful Kristy, Natalie and Tiff

Before joining Kristy and the team for 1:1 personal training sessions I had never really done any formal exercise on a regular basis. I always used time as an excuse and didn’t really like gyms. I work away from home several days a week and I don’t have a fixed schedule. Making the decision to give it a go and get in shape was the hardest part, everything else since has been much easier than I anticipated. I fit sessions round my work schedule each week and by doing this I see all four of the personal trainers so get a real variety of styles of training which keeps things interesting. I've started to notice changes to my body, have more energy and overall feel fitter, I'm sleeping better too.

I've been trying to lose weight and get fit on and off for years though a variety of diets and gym memberships. I took the plunge in December to take my health and fitness seriously and started group training.  The first session was the hardest hour I've ever worked in my life with aches and pains for a few days afterwards. This quickly settled over the next few sessions, my muscles still ache afterwards but in a good way, and I'm now into the routine of 3 early mornings every week.  Although I've got a long way to go I've started to notice changes to my body, have more energy and overall feel fitter, I'm sleeping better too.  The regular sessions also encourage me to think about what I eat, I'm trying not to undermine the early morning exercise with a poor diet although I do have the occasional treat. The trainers are really good,  I've found they push me a bit more than I would ever do on my own in a really encouraging way.  Thanks.

Since joining in January ( which seems so long ago!) and signing up to 3 sessions every week i've tried my hardest and managed only to miss one session . At times i've felt cold and tired and had to drag myself to my exercise session but i've always come out glad i went and thoroughly enjoyed every session. Now i have more energy and feel a difference if not on the outside but definitely on the inside. I'm feeling more confident about achieving my goals and positive about my wellbeing. Like most people I was nervous to begin my twice a week 1-1 sessions. I was pleasantly surprised by the supportive nature of all the trainers. Since starting I have had a real burst of energy and better sleep. I feel more educated about what I am eating and ecstatic about my progress.

I've particularly enjoyed the variety of the sessions, no two are ever the same and I often wonder what new and differing forms of torture she is going to put me through next!!

I have found my individual sessions with Hetti to be both motivational and fun. Attending twice a week should be an onerous task but I actually look forward to them, even if I do ache for a few days after. I've particularly enjoyed the variety of the sessions, no two are ever the same and I often wonder what new and differing forms of torture she is going to put me through next!! The boxing is also excellent for stress relief after a hard day.
On a serious note though I've started to notice real results with regard to my measurements and Hetti is always at the end of the phone for some nutrition advice or added motivation

Six weeks ago I woke up and realised I needed to make a change and lose some weight. I signed up at the Nottingham studio to begin my journey, feeling very apprehensive and nervous. 
After my first session with Natalie I was amazed at how much positivity and confidence the workout and Natalie gave me, and I knew from that session I had made the right choice. 
My whole attitude towards diet and exercise has changed completely, and look forward to my sessions every week which are always fun and different, and the results are clear to see from my weigh in. I couldn't believe how much I lost in such a short space of time.

I’ve been training with Tiff, Gemma and Hetti since December and feel much fitter, healthier and am overall more conscious of my health.  The training sessions haven’t got any easier as the team make sure to keep the sessions challenging but now my muscles don’t seem to ache quite as much or as long as after my first few sessions, or perhaps I’m just got used to it.

The monthly measurements and weigh ins are very important to help track progress.  I had a few months of losing inches and pounds and then became a bit complacent with my diet, a couple of months in I had put almost all of the weight I’d lost back on again.  Previously I would have just fallen out with the scales and not weighed myself for a good few months during which time I would have steadily gained weight again.  This time I was encouraged (repeatedly by Tiff, Gemma and Hetti on and on, until I eventually gave in) to improve my diet.  I’m now I’m into about the third month of keeping a food diary which really helps me so acknowledge food I’ve eaten and to think about the quality of food I’m going to eat. 

I’ve learned that I have a month or two lag between eating and drinking poorly to putting on weight so I have to think more long term about diet and fitness and not think that I’m somehow getting away with it.  Of course I’m no angel and still have treats but these are more occasional now.  The results are starting to show again and for once I’m looking forward to the next weigh in and measurements!

I've really enjoyed my sessions and always come away feeling happier - and undoubtedly healthier!

I know I feel much fitter since I started my training sessions, and they're all doing a great job of getting the best out of me during my sessions.

 

My working lifestyle has presented them (& me) with some challenges along the way - it often makes it hard for me to eat correctly, even if I know how, and my lack of structure to my working hours must give Natalie some headaches in scheduling my sessions - although it does mean I've been able to work with all the girls, and gain the positives from their various approaches and motivation, so for me it's been great.

 

Since I started training my increased fitness has enabled me to run for trains I'd otherwise have missed, and I've made a conscious effort to walk much more during work trips to London, and to build in the sessions I do in the gym.

 

Thank you to all the girls, and for the much appreciated accolade of your 'client of the week' - apart from benefiting on a fitness level, I've really enjoyed my sessions and always come away feeling happier - and undoubtedly healthier!

I only wish i had started a long time ago as it is the first time in years where I have enjoyed exercise.

When first starting i was really nervous but after the first session the nerves were gone. Everybody was welcoming and listened to any worries I had and made sure they didnt affect the work I was doing. The sessions themselves have been hard but enjoyable and I am really beginning to see and feel changes with my body both physically and mentally. I only wish i had started a long time ago as it is the first time in years where I have enjoyed exercise.

Until July I had been training 3 times a week in Gemma and Tiff's group sessions. This has been fantastic fun and I've seen a lot of people come and go as they achieve their goals, be it something specific like fitting into wedding a dress, or a longer goal of getting into shape and changing a lifestyle. The group sessions have always been great, with a wide mix of people from all kinds of backgrounds and fitness levels.
Then I was hit with a health issue to do with my heart (don't worry, probably minor, but diagnosis slowly pending!) and had to take short break. This has been one of those worrying times where you wonder how bad it could be.
However I am certain that if I hadn't been training for the last few years, if I was still overweight and unfit, then it would have been much worse and would have gone undiscovered until it was far more serious.
At first I wasn't sure about coming back but after discussing it with Natalie I found that the whole studio had discussed how put together a plan just for me so that I can stay healthy and keep fit without stressing my heart. 
About a month ago I resumed doing 1-to-1 sessions with Gemma and my weight, which had gone up, has started to come back down and now I'm feeling fitter again.
That personal attention has really mattered, helping me to keep healthy in every way that I can whilst I'm waiting for a diagnosis. Thank you for looking after me!

The encouragement that I've received from the trainers has really helped my self confidence and I feel as though the only way is up from now on. A friend of mine recommended Kristy to me as a way to start exercising when I realised that my health had deteriorated to match my fitness and diet - which was frequently composed of biscuits, cakes and fizzy drinks or beer! So I expected that initially it would just be a few months to get me started. However, here I am still training with Kristy after about 3 years. 

Kristy has helped me lose weight, get fit, build muscle, take control of my diet - I have even had months where I have reduced my drinking to almost nothing! When this started I didn't believe any of that would be very likely but I am healthier than I've been in a decade and happier because of it.

I have gone from drinking 2/3 glasses of fizzy pop a day to perhaps 2/3 in the whole 5 weeks that I have been on the programme, I never thought I'd break away from this ritual!

I am so pleased that I decided to sign up to the 28 day Accelerator Programme, I have gained so much and have happily signed up for a 2nd month and possibly a 3rd! I think Gemma worked out quite quickly that sport and fitness does not come easily to me, I haven't even quite mastered certain stretches, as part of the warm ups! However, I do want to lose weight, get fitter and be the best version of myself possible. Although I feel like I am gasping for air throughout most sessions, they always fly by and the sense of satisfaction felt at the end does make it all worthwhile. I always thought I preferred working out on my own, but that's not true, we have great group sessions with Gemma, which as well as sweat and pain fortunately include a few laughs too!

Working in London, over long days with little time to myself steadily my weight began to creep on and to be honest at first I didn’t notice how much I had changed not just physically but also mentally. ONE MONTH IN AND FEELING HEALTHIER AND HAPPIER! I was a little nervous at the start of the accelerator program because i wasn’t sure what to expect it was tough to start with but now a month in i am really beginning to enjoy the experience . I have already noticed my fitness and energy levels have increased and my range of movement and flexability have also improved but one of the best things about the programme is being able to train and have fun along side a group fantastic people who can and do motivate each other with the help of some great trainers looking forward too the rest of the programme

I bought into the Kristy Ellis exercise and health regime before she set up the current business. I was doing extremely well until I needed knee surgery, then had a further stroke and recently experienced problems with the other knee. I thought being mobile was ok. Kristy was supportive and enthusiastic that could still keep me active and I am so impressed with the variety of exercises we have been able to implement from a seated position. This is a great opportunity to share with people with movement restrictions permanent or temporary. Everytime I leave a sessions I feel so much better than when I arrived and most importantly maintain hope for improvement in the future.

I feel the benefit, my general fitness is increasing week on week and it's grand!!

I'm hurtling at full speed into my 6th week training with Natalie and I can honestly say I have never ached more!!! I can now hold a plank for a minute and can do some of the most interesting burpies you will ever see!! But joking aside I am learning every session about what I can do and how to improve. I feel the benefit, my general fitness is increasing week on week and it's grand!! Natalie is amazing, very encouraging and she makes me want to do better. I look forward to the next 6 weeks!!

I've always tried to keep fit but found in the past I got bored easily, working with Gemma means I get my own personal cheerleader as well as someone who knows what they're doing while able to vary my workouts each week! Coming into the new year I have gained weight over Christmas due to the normal overindulgence as well as being slightly ill! A new year has meant a new commitment to getting better and getting fit. Gemma has been great as she really tailors my sessions, while guiding me with real excitement! I have done sober January and can really see how this effects how I train and how I feel about my body. It's now been nearly 4 months here which is quite frankly ridiculous as it feels like 4 weeks! But oh what a feeling! My original goal when I got back into excercise was to be able to climb stairs without wanting to die! Now I can run up them... albeit in a comically undignified manner! My burpies actually have some spring to them now! And my clothes are starting to become loose which is my favourite thing as I have clothes I've not worn in years I can almost fit into again! Golf is my sport and last week I recorded my longest ever drive, so my strength and flexibility is definitely improving.

I am really beginning to feel the benefits of two sessions per week. I started in February with some limited movement due to a lower back problem, but the instructors have guided me through and every week I am able to do more. The idea of doing group personal training sessions was a daunting prospect, as I was injured and relatively unfit and feared I would be the ‘weakest link’.  However, I was desperate to do something and decided to give it a go.

Since starting with Kristy and the team, I haven’t looked back -  they made me really welcome in the group, allowed me to go at my own pace and have been incredibly supportive in working round my injury and helping me to adapt exercises to what I can do.  You’re only really competing against yourself in these sessions so the pressure is down to whatever you want to put yourself under. Under the team’s careful guidance, I’ve made visible progress in my strength and flexibility, I’ve increased the weights and intensity of my sessions and most importantly of all, have regained my mojo and confidence in exercising. This in turn, has allowed me to return to the sport I love and enjoy the benefits of a stronger, fitter and more flexible body in every-day life. A special thanks to Tiff who has been there supporting me every step of the way. I’ve still got a long way to go to my goal, but I’m having a great time getting there and thoroughly recommend this form of exercise and the Kristy Ellis  team to help anyone get there!

Going from doing no exercise at all to attending regular sessions was at first a daunting thoughts, but everyone has been so supportive and I’ve even started doing additional exercise outside of the sessions – which I never thought I’d do! Although I’ve got a long way to go in reaching my goal, the encouragement and continuous support I get motivates me to my best in each session to help me reach my goal.

I approached the start of my training with trepidation as I'm quite unfit. Natalie's one2one sessions are tough but that's the reason I signed up and I really enjoy Gemma's group sessions, again they are tough. After just 2 weeks of hard work I could already feel the difference. Now after 4 weeks I'm 5 kilos lighter and have lost 24cm. I am full of energy and don't snack all day long. I love excercising. It's something I never thought I'd hear myself say! I've been doing group training sessions since September 2015. Sometimes I wonder why it doesn't seem to be getting any easier. Then I realise I'm using the 7kg weights - not the 4kg - and the 12kg kettlebell - not the 6kg.... I love the camaraderie of the sessions and the sense of achievement. I love nothing better than completing one of Natalies thousand rep workouts, and posting on facebook to show everyone what I've done! I feel healthier, fitter and stronger than I ever have thanks to Gemma, TIff, Natalie and Hettie.

Although I am a frequent jogger, I needed something else to help increase my fitness and strength, and to tone. My sessions have definitely done that - I can see a huge difference in myself and I have to thank Gemma, Tiff and Natalie for that. I never use to know what exercises to do at home or even how to use weights. Now I own some weights, have a medicine ball and even occasionally do the 1000 reps workout at home.

I had a gym membership for a long time but after a long day at work found any excuse not to go and when I did I never really pushed myself. Before the gym was always a chore but I now attend 3 group sessions a week and really enjoy the variety of each one each week. Thank you Gemma, Hetti, Tiff (and Glenn!) for keeping me motivated and really pushing me in every session. The aches and pains are worth it!

I am one month into 3x per week personal training sessions and already feel healthier…and loving the sessions! I have always enjoyed attending fitness classes at gyms, but would loose interest after awhile due to the same routines or the copious amount of people in classes. Thankfully I discovered Kristy Ellis Personal Training because the classes are limited and every session varies which makes it loads of fun (with laughs sprinkled in). The trainers are great at motivating and keeping us focused on our personal health goals. I am definitely getting a lot of compliments and for the first time I agreed to be filmed by the BBC this week! I would of never of done that before.

After having children I struggled losing the baby weight.  I was so tired that I was not motivated and so busy running around my little boys that I was not eating well either.

I felt very low in confidence and as a business woman I would avoid being in articles, socialising or attend business events because I just felt like I had nothing to wear and felt frumpy. I had a wardrobe of beautiful clothes but I could not fit into my pre pregnancy clothes.

Since training I have got more energy, I am definitely getting a lot of compliments and for the first time I agreed to be filmed by the BBC this week! I would of never of done that before.  I have noticed I am doing more activities with my children and my eating habits have changed. I have swapped my sugary English breakfast tea for Green or Jasmine tea. I was addicted to Costa coffee and Jacket potatoes and I can honestly say I don’t remember when I last had a vanilla latte or a jacket potato.

I have dropped dress sizes and I have noticed my body is getting more toned and tight.  I am also getting a lot of compliments that my skin is glowing and my hair is shiny.

The results have so far exceeded my expectations!

 

I was a little apprehensive as I found it hard to get time to go to the Gym (with work commitments and a 2 year old).  I knew something needed to be done and investing 3 hours a week in myself would pay out.  Kristy was really welcoming, I’d done PT session before so I knew what I was letting myself in for, though in comparison the results have so far exceeded my expectations! I feel more energetic (though obviously not after each session!!!) and whilst the sessions are hard work they have also been fun. Tiff manages to push and motivate me that little bit further which I know has helped deliver results.

The food plan was a real help and I think one of the biggest challenges, but cutting my portion sizes and ensuring a good balance of fruit and vegetables has made the difference.
Within the first week I’d lost over a kilo and my clothes are all a lot looser … in total so far I’ve lost 7kg (one stone) and 13cm around my belly in just two months.
I look forward to seeing what happens in the next few months!

I have changed my eating habits - I've exchanged white carbs for brown eg. Now i eat wholemeal granary bread instead of white, sweet potatoes instead of white potatoes, brown rice and brown pasta instead of white rice and pasta and sweet potato fries instead of chips. I've also given up fizzy drinks and chocolate. I've reduced my tea consumption from 5 cups a day to 3 a week. I have lemon in warm water first thing in the morning. My biggest challenge so far is drinking water. I have gone from drinking no water to drinking 1 and a half litres a day which is going to increase to 2 litres.

I've also changed my attitude towards having a healthy lifestyle and I have a can do will do approach. I now feel like I've got more energy and I feel better within my body. I am also sleeping better too.

I can't believe how many changes I have made in such a short space of time!

When I first met Kristy I was confident that she was able to help me reach my goals. The programme has really changed my outlook on food and exercise. I am no longer skipping meals (and then making up for it by eating more later!) And I'm not craving sugary foods anymore. I have much more energy and actually look forward to the classes (even the 7am ones!). Kristy really pushes you in the class but not so much that you feel you can't continue. I can feel in just over two weeks that my strength and fitness levels have significantly improved and I have made lifestyle changes that I know I can continue with. I really enjoy setting small goals each week - they really keep you on track but because they are achievable and short-term you don't feel overwhelmed. I can't believe how many changes I have made in such a short space of time!

The accelerator programme has allowed me to get fitter by being healthier! My mindset has been quite clear since joining the sessions and i have completely cut out carbs from my diet, eating mainly salads and veg such as sweet potato and chicken. I never miss breakfast now and though it sounds simple, I am having 3 healthy meals, which probably hasn’t always been the case. I have made a conscious effort to drink more water! Gemma makes the sessions fun and has this knack of pushing me to do more, be it by increasing weights or just catching me at that last bit where motivation is lacking. It’s all good fun and I feel all the better for it.

I was a bit nervous to begin with joining the programme as I hadn't worked out in a very long time and wasn't sure what to expect. However I'm  glad I did, as I really enjoy it. After the sessions I feel great even though each one gets harder and not easier but working in a group keeps me motivated. Kristy made a positive impression on me the very first time we met by reflecting on how she could support me with my specific needs. We have made significant progress but never have I felt pressured beyond my ability or unchallenged. Every session is varied, enjoyable and focused on me both physically and nutritionally.She demonstrates professionalism in all that she does from the administration of the sessions to the selection of activities and the occasional counting errors (allegedly).
I commend Kristy as a personal trainer to anyone of any age or ability whatever your own goals are, no challenge appears too great. Oh yes and alongside all of that she is really nice. I wonder where this journey is going?

I can confidently say that joining the training program was the best ever decision in my life

I have been fairly overweight for the past 6-7 years and initially I wasn't really worried about me being over weight. But as all things change, so do my mind.  I was breathing heavily while walking, losing badminton matches due to poor stamina, not getting the size of the apparels that I like the most. I tried various things -gym, diet(various diets), but nothing worked.

One of my friend suggested to try personal training and although I was bit hesitant I thought to try to see whether that works for me. 
I had even less hope after the Taster session that I had as I felt personal training will be more intensive and exhausting for my liking.  But I decided to enroll in the Body Transformation Program to take the challenge.
 
To be very honest, I wasn't expecting the trainer (Gemma) to be this friendly and caring. I feel Gemma understands ones strengths and weaknesses on their first session itself. Her encouraging words and enthusiastic approach motivates me to push myself further.
Working in groups was really motivating and encouraging. It is not at all intimidating and although you are working in groups you are only working to your strengths and abilities.

I in fact started loving the session and often used to think why it can't be for 7 days a week rather than just 2 days as week :-)

The food plan which you gave for me is working really well.  I have followed the plan for one month now and I never felt I was starving while following the food plan. As you rightly pointed out while starting the session it was a food plan and not a diet plan. I love the food given in the food plan as it closely matches to what I usually have. It is just I am not eating anything rubbish. 

Now, I can confidently say that joining the training program was the best ever decision in my life. I would greatly recommend you to whomever think that they want to lose weight.

I feel in the best shape I have done for years

Since starting my training with Gemma I have noticed a lot of changes. I am stronger and move about faster. Little things like cleaning and gardening at home are easier and it is a lot more enjoyable walking my brother's dog. In such a short time, the training sessions and small changes to my diet have made such a big difference to my everyday life. I have noticed my recovery after sessions is faster and I feel in the best shape I have done in years.

After years of 'umming and ahhring' about getting a personal trainer, I'm so glad I made the decision to contact Kristy and be intorduced to Emma. I'd lost all my motivation after an indulgent Christmas and have always been afraid to push myself with exercise but Emma's encouragement and support it helping me to overcome these obstacles. I'm already seeing a significant change in my body shape that peopole are noticing. I decided in January this year to join a gym as I needed to lose 4 stone. I chose Kristy initially because of her specific experience of weight loss training as that was my main aim. In the first sessions she gave me all the support and confidence I needed at the time, even down to not exercising near the mirror so I didn’t get self conscious!
We discussed my goals and lifestyle changes and Kristy was so approachable and realistic about how it could fit around my own home and work life. We worked on food diaries which were extremely helpful in the beginning to direct me as to work out the proportion of food groups I needed within a meal.
Since that first session I now see Kristy for a session once a week as the extra support and encouragement really keeps me on track. We still discuss my progress regularly and as change in my work life happens, Kristy always has suggestions on how to incorporate my exercise and healthy eating into my routine in a manageable way. I really look forward to our sessions and although they are challenging they are always fun, varied and tailored to my specific capabilities and needs.
Through Kristy's sessions and my lifestyle changes I have achieved over half the weight loss that I was aiming for. Kristy measures my waist and hips which shows me much quicker results and therefore spurs me on to work harder! Kristy has also worked on muscle building exercises for my knees which has made a vast improvement to my life as I now only have very occasional pain as opposed to every day. Without Kristy's ongoing support, encouragement and expertise, I am sure I would not be anywhere near as close to achieving my goals.

This is giving me much more confidence in carrying out normal day-to-day activities.

I'm recovering from very major surgery to remove a tumour from the nerves in my spine. I had a year's break from exercise before my operation because it was too painful to do anything and got to the point where I couldn't walk. After my operation I had to be extremely careful with my spine and I wasn't allowed to get out of bed or even sit up in bed for the first five days. I have suffered nerve damage in my spine from the tumour and the operation and it's uncertain how much of this will be permanent. The partial paralysis in my leg makes it difficult to walk. So I really felt like I was starting from zero when I was allowed to try exercising again!  

They also found that I have another, completely independent problem in my spine where the bone hasn't grown properly. My surgeon was shocked that this hadn't caused me more problems already and I'm convinced that the reason for that is all the core strength exercises I've done in the past with Kristy. I may escape problems later in life by continuing to work on stabilising my core to support my spine.  

Starting training again was daunting but after a year of not being able to exercise I was desperate to get going again. I'm very aware that things could have turned out a lot worse and appreciate having a body that (mostly) works so now I want to look after it!

Using the TRX to help with balance gives me a safe way to train and build up my strength again. This is giving me much more confidence in carrying out normal day-to-day activities which are much harder than they were before my illness.

I am so grateful to Kristy as everyone has said that they have seen me return to myself, confident and outgoing, which has happened due to the power of exercise and someone who believes in you and does not give up.

All my life I have been sporty, throughout school, university and in clubs and my job takes me to Africa where I undertake very physical work. Did I take my body for granted? Yes. I never thought it would break or fail me. However, in late September 2012 I herniated a disc in my lower back and all I can remember is the pain. My world went from international travel to a sofa, tv and living room, everything in my life stopped. I spent nearly a year on the sofa not moving, in pain, battling with the NHS and having multiple injections to fix the issue. It turned out that exercise was the answer but I lacked all motivation, my battery was empty.

This is when in March 2014 I turned to Kristy for help. I had lost all confidence in myself, my body and what I could or could not do. Kristy has been amazing, very patient and supportive. She persuaded me to do different activities but it never felt like she was pushing. Our first sessions was just stretching as I could not do anything else. I thought I would have to give up my dream career of working in Africa, I thought that all the years of effort that I put in would all be lost as I physically could not do anything.

I am so excited to say that due to a fantastic partnership between myself and Kristy I am striving forward, I have just got my dream job in Africa and I’m thrilled that I’m now physically ready for it. The sweat and effort put in over the last 7 months has been completely worthwhile. Kristy has adapted and taken all my issues into consideration and developed with me a plan that has been very effective. I am so grateful to her as everyone has said that they have seen me return to myself, confident and outgoing, which has happened due to the power of exercise and someone who believes in you and does not give up.

My aim isnt about weight loss but to feel healthier and fitter, I am pleasantly surprised how quickly this can be achieved.

I have been training with Kristy and Gemma for 4 weeks now, 2 weeks 1 to 1 as I was eager to get started before the Body Transformation Programme started, and 2 weeks as part of the body transformation programme. I really enjoy the group sessions, we work hard but have a laugh as well.  Each session is different which I  like as it keeps you on your toes as you never know what you're going to be doing. 
 
At first I had reservations around what the food plan would entail as previous so called healthy eaten plans contained obscure food items. The one I received based on my hormones was great. It includes the majority of foods I like and I have found it easy to stick to. Even though I have only being follow this for a few weeks I have noticed a difference.  I am sleeping better and wake up feeling refreshed. The thing i like most is that I don't feel bloated after I've eaten. Colleagues at work have even commented on how well I look. My aim isnt about weight loss but to feel healthier and fitter, I am pleasantly surprised how quickly this can be achieved.

I am now doing things that I never thought possible

Since training with Emma over the last four months my fitness levels have increased dramatically.  I trained with a personal trainer before but had a couple of months gap before starting with Emma and I am now doing things that I never thought possible especially with my back, shoulder and neck problems so much so that my chiropractor has commented on the change in me and my sessions with him are now every 4 weeks rather than 3 and I find that I am not getting stiff in the time between.

 My husband has now also started training with me and the competition is really enhancing my fitness – I never realised I was so competitive!  He is really enjoying the sessions too and is already noticing the difference in his fitness levels in the three weeks that he has been training.

Together with Kristyís support and my own hard work I have lost almost 10kg and found real joy in regular exercising, which I always thought would be impossible.

I have never been very athletic or enjoyed sports that much and too often my attempts to start a more active, healthier life have crashed after just the first few weeks. That’s why this time I decided to find a personal trainer who could help me change my old habits and encourage me to challenge myself over and over again. Stumbling across Kristy’s website was a bit of a lucky accident, but I knew immediately that working with her would be much more personal and effective than joining any gym.

I have been seeing Kristy 1-2 times a week and the results have been amazing! The sessions are always very well thought through and no session is ever similar to the previous one! You can be sure to feel it the next day, but you also feel so good afterwards! I admit I was a bit worried at first how I would find personal training since I had never done anything similar before, but Kristy has made me feel really comfortable ever since the first day and I haven’t regretted starting this ‘project’ even once! I've been training with Kristy for a couple of years now, following several bouts of surgery. She has always managed to push me just enough to get me working hard while still allowing some leeway for my injured bits. It's a fine balance and she's perfect at inspiring me to keep going and do more than I thought I could.

I have joined in the new Body Transformation programme as I still have a long way to go on my fitness journey. I'm finding I really enjoy it - although it is extremely hard during the sessions I feel great afterwards, and I find the food plan easy to follow too Working out with a couple of other people brings out my competitive streak and I'm hoping for great results!

When I met Kristy I said how my ambition was to have a bottom like Beyoncé’s. As you can see in my photo this was going to take quite some work and would be ‘a distance goal’ achievable at some point in the future.

I have been training with Kristy for 6 months and alas, I still do not have Beyoncé’s bottom, I have seen some amazing changes. My fitness and strength levels have increased substantially, my body shape has changed causing me to drop a dress size and my general outlook on life is far more positive.

This has given me the confidence to realise that, although my Everest is the current battle of 1 pound, as you can see in the photo, the battle will need to be fought for a long time after and this is Kristy’s true gift as a personal trainer. I call it the ‘never give up’ mantra. No matter how small an achievement, it is praised. No matter how tired you are, you can still hold that plank for 10 more seconds. No matter how much you hate them, burpees are your friend. I have grown to love forms of exercise I hate, such as Tabata, none of which would be achievable without Kristy.

So although I still have my Everest to climb (and many more pounds after that), the climb is so much easier with a climbing partner who kicks your ass up the mountain, even on those days you do not want to get on the rowing machine!!!

After 2 months I am feeling the benefits of a personal trainer - I have lost weight, my body is changing shape and getting more toned

I decided I wanted a personal trainer as after losing 2 stone in weight I was finding myself not getting anywhere - i seemed to have hit a wall and needed a change of direction. After talking to a few of the team at the gym I decided on Kristy as I felt I would get on with her and she could help me achieve my goals.

We began the sessions, I went for one session a week which was a very intense session but worth the hard work as after 2 months I am feeling the benefits of a personal trainer - I have lost weight, my body is changing shape and getting more toned. My fitness has improved a lot, and not only has Kristy helped me in my training and fitness she has also helped me change my diet - I feel I have changed my out look on food as a whole. I have gained some good knowledge of training routines and my eating pattern is now very good, but a personal trainer can only do so much as I have found out its me who is going to have to do the hard work to keep me on track.

We started to have personal training with Kristy because we wanted to lose weight and tone up. On hearing this, we then decided to have 5 training sessions as a tester. After the first two sessions we could easily tell Kristy had the same desire as we did to achieve our goals.
